Pier 88 Boiling Seafood and Bar

We love this place. Service and good and it usually doesn't take long to be seated and food comes out within 15-20 minutes of ordering. They have some great sauces they put on their seafood!

The food was excellent and service even better!! Our waitress was very attentive and kept us smiling the whole time!

I am a recent patron of Pier 88 and i LOVE it.The food is good but the bartender Nelly is my favorite person of all,she is beyond nice,always keeps my drinks coming(and they are awesome) and tonight she made room at the bar for us because it was super crowed tonight. She has a faithful customer in me for now on!!

The food is hot and fresh . and when you get the seafood boils it’s nice and hot and fresh

I came from Suffolk to pick up from Hampton. Food was ready, order was exact, and service was friendly. I will definitely go back. Only thing, sauce was a little too salty. than that, it was awesome.

It was my first time here today. I like the place, good ol' comfy feel. Bartender greeted me when I came in. I sat at the bar and ordered a Shock Top,and calamari basket. 2beers and food was only $15.00, pretty good. **I'll be back!** in my Terminator voice! Oh, and a very clean bathroom. Its allowed to write on the walls here, but I didn't have anything to write with...

Food was good, but the service was great so that added to my liking this place. Not a true fan of boils, but my sister chose here to eat.

One of the best seafood restaurants I’ve been to! Pricing for the size and amount of food is very reasonable, great atmosphere, very clean venue, and drinks were pretty tasty. The only downfall I would say is that service could use some improvement. Our waitress was polite but it did take what seemed like forever to get drinks and refills. Also most of the waiters seemed like they really didn’t want to be there from the looks of it. Other than that I would recommend going to try them out if you’re digging some good fried or broiled seafood!!

Has boiled in bag seafood and some fried stuff. Went to another one of this chain for lunch one day. Never then to sit down for this one but because it is only one block out of my way on the way home, we frequently pick up dinner. The app for ordering is reasonably easy to use. And it can store favorites so if you tend to order the same thing every time, which we do, you can say just give me my favorite.

The catfish basket was so good. Also had steamed mussels, they were delicious. The servers were all friendly. Crystal was one of the best servers ever.

Poor Service I made reservations for a party of 15 people. At 5pm the place wasn’t even busy we sat there waited to be seated 45 min. When they finally took us to the table we had to wait another 25 mins before someone took our order. And when the waitress came over there she had a whole attitude. Like she didn’t want to serve us.

Pier 88 reminds me of Atlanta version of Juicy Crab, but I kinda think it's slighty better!🤷🏾‍♀️

It took a little long to get my service but after that everything was pretty good. Both the shrimp and calamari were very good, but I like the shrimp more. The calamari rings were very thick. The beer could have been colder. Kaitlin, my server, was very attentive and my food arrived quickly. It was worth the visit.

Awesome everything... Food, drinks, drink prices, staff, music, sports on TV. ended up taking the family twice in one week while they were visiting because it was so good we didn't want to chance it on another seafood restaurant!

Eh. It’s okay. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I ordered the shrimp Po boy to go. It came out quickly! But when I got it back to my office and opened it I was so disappointed. It was 5 pieces of shrimp on a burger bun and smothered in mayo. To me, this is not a Po Boy. The shrimp was okay but I’m sure it would be better by itself. The cheesecake tastes store bought and the slice was pretty small. Not worth the price.

Customer service is disgusting! From Lance on down to Nelly! Tashawna and Danielle and Tae are the best workers there! I wouldnt encourage anyone to go here with so many other seafood restaurants with great service and food. They discriminate. They're ghetto. They pick and choose what rules too follow depending on who you are. It's awful! And you dont get what u pay for anymore. Go elsewhere! Save your money and your peace.

The vibe was great! Our waitress Serenity was amazing. Making sure we were never in need of anything! They also had ladies night with an exclusive $1 drink menu! The food was great and the service was even better! I will definitely return!💜💜💜👌🏾

Great country boil. At first I was taking a little bit back because the country boil came and plastic bags but I found at that was probably the best way to serve it because it kept the sauce all together. The house sauce the Pier 88 sauce was absolutely wonderful and I had it hot and it was perfectly seasoned the crabs were cooked perfectly and when were fairly easy to peel but they should give you some plastic crab knives to make it easier. I wish they would team up with graham & Rollins and put the Atlantic red crabs on their menu.

Great Food, Service is great when servers not limited, and great drinks

Great food, good service. Just more noisy than I prefer. The noise level is much like that of Buffalo Wild Wing to me. I'd do it again though for the food or with a group, but not for a first or romantic date.

We started with Calamari which was cooked perfectly, right amount of crunchy flakey outside and not too chewy. We also got the shrimp, muscles and crab legs with another serving of clams all in their special Pier 88 mix...Amazing! Our waitress, Kiaya was very helpful and did a great job with suggestions. The only reason I only gave 4 stars is it took forever for the bar to pour my beer.

Placed was packed on a Sunday afternoon around three. Our group specifically went for the all day happy hour specials on Sundays. Lily our server was very friendly and provided wonderful service. We received our drinks and food in a timely manner. The food was hot and very tasty. Drinks were low priced. I had two long islands and they were good. I also had 12 chicken wings, an order of hush puppies, and a order of fried shrimp. All that for about 22 bucks. yeah, I was a fat kid today, but I was hungry and it was worth it. Wonderful afternoon out, good food, football, with hip hop playing in the background. Had a ball!

I have been searching for good seafood for months and finally found a place that gets it right! I ordered the fried shrimp basket and received some plump, juicy, golden brown shrimp that were cooked perfectly. Hubby had fish and shrimp and he was equally pleased. I asked for corn on the side and expected to get a single ear of corn but was treated to a bag of buttery corn with 4 cobs - yummy. We paid less than $40 for 2 meals, an extra side and 2 drinks. We have paid far more for meals in this area but this food was so good I expected it to cost more. We will definitely return to try more from the menu.

Went there today 4/9/20 was very disappointed with the chicken wings. Ordered 12 they were hard and the bones were black. Shared 5 out of the 12 could not eat anymore just horrible.

I got the seafood boil for 25.00 to go and it was so much food that I could've eat it in one sitting. This was my first time having an egg in my seafood boil as I had heard so I was super excited. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the 88 classic seasoning on it as well if wondering.

Comingt from CT, The nastiest lobster I've ever had ,the lobster was soft as apple sauce. Great customer service tho.

This place is in Hampton Virginia near Town center in a small strip mall if you blink too fast you'll drive right past. I highly recommend that you turn around and try this restaurant are waitresses name for the last two times that we have been with Shannon she was an amazing waitress my food came out fast even though the restaurant was packed this is an amazing place to eat. This is a crab boil bag one of many that they have I was so impressed with this and I have eaten at a lot of seafood restaurants none of which can compare to Pier 88. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful the restaurant is small but cozy the food comes out hot and ready for you to overindulge every single time. they have a very good happy hour from 5 to 7 if I'm not mistaken and it is well worth the time to stop by whether you live in Hampton Roads or whether you are just passing through Pier 88 gets 5 stars from someone who prides himself on being one of the hardest food critics in Hampton Roads.

My husband and I saw the flags on the building signaling that this establishment is open. My husband and I decided to stop by. Very nice environment and super friendly staff. Our server Nichole was the best. We tried the calamari and the cheese sticks. Got to admit that it was very fresh tasting. Not that gross, sitting there for months taste. Definitely an awesome place to visit. The ONLY reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because they didn’t have their liquor license. I really wanted a drink to enjoy with my food.

I can't get enough of the fried calamari here. I am able to come here for lunch from time to time and they offer a basket of them. Great.

I enjoyed their shrimp boil with lobster, shrimp, smoked sausage, with a cob of corn and a potato. Didn't expect the boiled egg but it was all tasty. When I'm in Hampton I go to their happy hour for fried shrimp and buffalo wings. They taste even better!

Kids free Friday night, decided to go here. Food was very good, it was more than enough! Crab legs and shrimp taste so good along with the melted butter! We chose to sit at the bar because there was more space there than at the table we were seated at. Friday afternoons/night are really packed! Drinks were good. I couldn't really hear the music that was playing over everyone talking, other than that I will definitely go back! We really enjoyed ourselves!

This place is wonderful. I’ve been there twice. First with a buddy and shortly after with my wife. She loves seafood so I couldn’t wait to take her to the Pier. I’ve had their boiled shrimp, mussels and fried shrimp. Every thing was excellent. The servers were top notch. We were seated quickly despite the crowd on both nights. Our server showed up right away. The meal was served prompt and hot. I can’t wait to go back.

My daughter took me here for a pre Mother's Day gift! My first time and I really enjoyed it. I had a Shrimp Po Boy w/ fries. The food is great! Our waitress was great. I will definitely be going back again.

If you enjoy fried food, boiled seafood bags with some home-made sauces & happy hour plates & drinks, try Hampton's Pier 88. Sunday is happy hour all day & small plates with fried shrimp or calamari runs under $5. Drinks are below $4. Cute ocean decor of crabs, nets & lobster. Fast paced, you won't wait long. Good staff too!

I got the c3 boil with garlic butter and mild my niece got the c3 boil with lemon pepper and mildMy other niece got the c2 boil with garlic butter and mild. It was busy so we got ours to goWait time was ok but the food was so good Will definitely go again

Fried catfish and shrimp were on point. Can't wait to try the boils on my next visit! Clean laid back setting my mother loved coming here for her birthday! You should come too!
